The heat, the beach, the sea ... A fashionable visor, hand-made, matched to your summer ensemble, will protect you from the dazzling rays of the sun.
Such a visor can be sewn from any dense fabrics or non-woven materials. We offer the simplest option - a dense linen of two colors plus a braid 1 - 2 cm wide.
You will need: green linen with a length of 20 cm and a width of 32 cm for a visor and yellow linen with a width of 6 cm and a length = head circumference + 10 cm of allowances for fasteners. Vlieseline gasket 20 cm long and 16 cm wide + gasket strip = size of the back and front of the rim. In addition: Velcro braid (Velcro) - 2 rectangles 1 cm long (from two halves), oblique trim for edging, length = double rim length + outer visor semicircle length.
Option: the front side of the rim can be made wider (higher) by about half, or increase its width to 6-8 cm.
Copy the pattern. Enlarge the pattern: 1 cell = 1 cm. Extend the front of the rim to the required length.
You need carve out 2 parts of green linen (in the mirror image) and one part of the gasket. Then, from yellow flax, cut out 2 parts of the back of the rim and 1 part of the front. Transfer markings for sewing Velcro fasteners onto the details of the cut of the rim. Cut 1 part for the rim from the gasket for the front and rear.
SEWING
Put the two parts of the visor face to face.Lay the gasket on top. Sew along the outer contour all three layers, twist and iron. Turn the visor around the outer contour with an oblique trim.
Also sew the rim, but leave a hole on the bottom = the length of the inside of the visor. Iron the seam allowance along the open part of the rim, insert the open sections of the visor inside and sew along, grasping the visor.
Your fashionable summer accessory is ready!
