An exhibition of miniature outfits at Le Petit Théâtre Dior pays tribute to the unsurpassed craftsmanship of not only fashion designers, but also the creators of the outfits themselves.
Now Dior Fashion House has decided once again to demonstrate its rich history. Showcases reminiscent of doll houses showcase the main haute couture models for more than half a century: Miss Dior dresses embroidered with flowers, 50s Mexique and Muguet ball gowns, the famous Bar Jacket from the 1947 Christian Dior collection (jacket with a similar silhouette you can sew on a pattern of a Lola suit jacket), dresses of stars such as Grace Kelly (pay attention to our pattern of Grace dresses, Marilyn Monroe (you can sew yourself a festive dress a la Marilyn on a pattern of a dress 122 of Burda collections “Like in the cinema!”), Natalie Portman, Mariyon Kontiyar, as well as the legendary Dior dress,in which Jennifer Lawrence appeared at the Academy Award in 2013.
In support of the exhibition, French photographer Patrick Demarchelier took a series of shots in which models are holding miniature, about a third of human height, mannequins of suits and Dior dresses.
In the 40s of the last century, the exhibition returned the attention of spectators to events and achievements in the world of haute couture, today the Dior Fashion House decided to draw the attention of society to the employees of couture workshops, who, together with the great maestro, worked on creating copies of the original dresses, reduced several times. On the video you can see their jewelry and exceptional work with fabric, appliques, sequins when creating Miss Dior and Mexique dresses. You can learn how to decorate dresses with sparkling sequins and beads as described in the master class on the decor of brilliant flowers.
