Crystal Rennes, a fashion model with beautiful curvaceous, until recently was the idol of many women. Today, most of them feel cheated. Why?
The fight against the weight of the world famous American fashion model began as early as adolescence - she managed to lose weight significantly, but at the cost of worsening health status. Then the girl waved her hand on diets, gained 32 kilograms in weight and ... became one of the most popular plus size models. Her portraits graced the covers of famous magazines such as Vogue (4 times) andHarper's bazaar (the only plus size model). And on the catwalks of fashion, she presented the work of Jean-Paul Gaultier (Jean paul gaultier), as well as other world-famous designers and brands (Lane Bryant, EVans andTorrid, Chanel, H&M andDolce & Gabbana, Saks Fifth Avenue, Jimmy Choo, Barneys, Dsquared2 andNordstrom).
Nevertheless, the struggle with weight continued and everyone who admired the young and non-standard beauty, over the past years, watched her weight gradually decrease. And finally - 175 cm and 45 kg ...
In 2009, Crystal wrote a book called "Hungry: A Young Model's Story of Appetite, Ambition and the Ultimate Embrace of Curves" ("Hungry: the story of a young model about appetite, ambition, and about accepting yourself for who you are.") is the American version. "Hungry: Ich wollte essen. Aber ich wollte auch in der Vogue sein" ("Hungry:" I wanted to eat, but I wanted to be on the pages of Vogue ") - German version of the name.
Crystal finished her best seller with these words: "I wrote this book, not only to tell the world the truth about myself, but also to encourage other women to learn to gratefully accept themselves as they are."
For the fact that she is still alive, despite the cruel experiments with her weight, she should thank the stubborn resistance of her body. He does not give up and at the first opportunity adds a few grams to her weight, despite the fact that she eats almost nothing and exposes herself to serious physical exertion. Childhood Crystal Rennes can be called harmonious. Her grandmother was engaged in her upbringing (in Miami and Clinton, Mississippi), since her mother was too young a creature when she had a baby. However, even later she did not pay much attention to her daughter. And little Crystal was little interested in her mother. Only as a teenager did Kristal try to please her mother.
And already in childhood, the main feature of her character is manifested: persistent determination. She is able to direct all her strength to achieve the desired goal. So, at age 14, she liked the coat on the model of Gisele Bündchen, and she wanted to show the same beautiful things on the catwalks. True, a small trifle prevented her from getting what she wanted: the model had a hip circumference of 86 cm, and she had 109 cm.
But Crystal’s willpower was not to be occupied, and iron self-discipline did its job - in just one year, it lost 40% of its weight. And so she buys the coveted ticket to New York and signs an agreement with a famous modeling agency. And yet things are not going as brilliantly as she had hoped. Along with her weight, Crystal lost her “sense of attractiveness of her own body” and self-confidence. She is not in demand as a model, and her agency insists that she continue to lose weight. However, the body stiffly resists extreme experiments on itself and refuses to lose weight.
And Krystal turns on the mind, changes the modeling agency and signs an agreement to demonstrate work in the "plus size" class, and most importantly, it starts eating normally again."Overweight" weight returns, and with it appears self-confidence and the ability to control your own body. And the first big successes are not long in coming!
However, one who assumes the book "Hungry ..."- about a successful career as a model, deeply mistaken. A twenty-three-year-old woman rarely can tell a lot of interesting things about her life on 256 pages. Crystal Rennes, in addition to her biography, openly talks about her illness associated with a strict diet. She provides data on research and statistics, writes about the problems of obese women in modern society.
The main conclusion that can be drawn by reading her book - "Beauty does not depend on your weight, but only on how comfortable you feel with your kilograms" - is not new. But Crystal writes so sincerely and convincingly that it is impossible not to believe and not to reconsider her "relations" with her own body.
