The inspiration for the new fall-winter collection of the famous brand was one of the most bewitching couples of world ballet - Rudolf Nuriev and Margot Fontaine.
The joint debut of 23-year-old Rudolf Nureyev and 42-year-old Margo Fontaine in Giselle made such a huge impression on the sophisticated audience that the standing ovation did not stop for 40 minutes. Surprisingly, the great ballerina was going to leave the stage in those years! Incredible success convinced Margo Fontaine to forget about the end of his career for ten years, and so began the story of one of the most captivating ballet duets.

This beautiful couple inspired Max Mara creative director Jan Griffiths to create a new collection, which was based on the contrasts of the duet of artists: the heat of youth and the refined accuracy of experience, the feminine side of masculinity and masculinity of femininity.
In the collection you will not find references to the famous stage costumes of Nureyev and Fontaine, since it was the backstage, the so-called backstage, rehearsals and training, the flip side of the ballet that formed the basis of the Max Mara images. Warming multi-layer, ballet tops with ties, T-shirts over knitted long sleeves, a combination of tight and loose things. The deliberately masculine austerity of trousers and blazers harmoniously coexists with unexpected feminine chiffon elements inspired by Margot Fontaine.
The theme of ballet has repeatedly become an inspiration for Burda. Below you will find our favorite patterns for connoisseurs of this beautiful art:
