The perky and popular hat from the Basque country will look very elegant if you sew it from quilted brocade.

A delightful headpiece can be made even more elegant by fringing it with a satin ribbon and decorating it with a satin bow and a sparkling brooch.
Head circumference 56 cm.You will need:
Quilted brocade 0.35 m wide 135 cm or flap size. 35x70 cm. Finished satin oblique inlay 0.60 m, 2 cm wide; satin braid 0.25 m, 1.5 cm wide; 1 brooch.
Cutting:
2 beret parts = circles diam. 30 cm, including allowances. On the bottom part of the beret cut a circle diam. 14 cm
Sewing:
Lay the satin oblique inline around the outer cut of the lower part of the shore and pin it, tighten the ends of the inlay. Stitch the edges of the tape to the edge. Fold the beret parts face to face, grind along the outer slices. Overlock allowances together. Takes turn out. Iron the outer edge. Fold the satin ribbon with a bow. Sew a bow on the tucked-up ends of the inlay on the edging. In the middle of the bow, pin a brooch.
